“Oorah” Brings Hope to Pueblo County Children at Christmas

Pueblo Cooperative Care Center’s Board of Directors Jerry Cordova (Treasurer) and Corry Higbee (Executive Director) received recognition with a “Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Support” from the United States Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program from local Coordinator Freddie Gallegos, Jr.

The mission of the United States Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program is to help less fortunate children experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite members of local communities in a common cause during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to improving communities in the future.  Mr. Gallegos, his loyal team of supporters and Pueblo Cooperative Care Center worked diligently this past Christmas to bring joy to children in Pueblo County by successfully distributing over 1,400 toys at Pueblo Cooperative Care Center.

The United States Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program pursues a range of fundraising projects each year and you are encouraged to support these efforts. These projects include sponsorships, direct mail campaigns, the Combined Federal Campaign, special events and special projects such as “In Memory Of, or In Honor Of” donations. You can support this program online by visiting their website at https://www.toysfortots.org/donate/forms/social/Default.aspx.  Please be certain to click on the link “Find Your Local Campaign” (Pueblo, CO) to support children in Pueblo County for the 2019 Christmas season.

Pueblo Cooperative Care Center graciously acknowledges and thanks the United States Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program, Mr. Freddie Gallegos, Jr., his dedicated team and many contributors for helping Pueblo Cooperative Care Center to make a real difference. You upheld a higher standard and your efforts reflected honor, courage and commitment. “Oorah!”
